Guests enjoyed a fabulous evening featuring jazz pianist Jools Holland and impressionist Rory Bremner at the inaugural charity gala of the Petra Ecclestone Foundation at London’s Corinthia Hotel in aid of Petra’s Place, a new early intervention centre for children with autism.

It is estimated that Petra’s Place will open in 2018 offering the essential early intervention proved so successful in the US.

The Petra Ecclestone Foundation are delighted to have completed on their first site in Fulham Road, London, to allow the inaugural Petra’s Place to commence planning and construction.

The most advanced treatments will be available to children from the age of 20 months to 6 years old and also the much-needed support for the families of these children. The selection process of the children is being finalised and will be announced shortly.

The Centre will house the most state of the art equipment and facilities proven in America to be the most effective to help very young children with autism. There will be myriad of sensory panels and interactive games alongside more traditional classroom areas.

The Centre will include speech and occupational therapy in their programme with an emphasis on the children having ‘fun’ through Lego, cookery and music therapies and the early start Denver Model.

Petra Ecclestone comments  “Early diagnosis is the key for helping young children with autism and I am delighted to be able to provide a centre offering everything these young children and their families need under one roof to the standard that America has been offering so effectively for many years.”
